August 22, 2023

Dear Members of the Connecticut College Community,

It is my pleasure to share that on September 1, 2023 Susan Morrison Daniells '01 will assume the role of Interim Vice President for College Advancement. She is a proud Camel and excited to serve her alma mater in this new capacity.

Susan is currently the Director of Development working with the Leadership Giving, Annual Giving, and Research and Prospect Management teams, as well as serving as Interim Director of Advancement Services. She returned to the College in 2018 to become the Director of Leadership Gifts. She has worked closely with important donors to connect them with meaningful gift opportunities that move the mission of the College forward and that benefit all students, faculty, and staff. She has collaborated with campus partners, the President's Leadership Council, the Alumni Board, and the Board of Trustees in securing philanthropic dollars that help Conn thrive today and far into the future.

Before returning to Connecticut College, Susan held roles as Senior Associate Director of Major Gifts at Yale University from 2013-2018 and Director of Development for the Yale School of Art. From 2003-2013 Susan worked for the Office of Development at Vassar College in varying roles in the annual fund and leadership giving.

As a student at Connecticut College, she was a double major in Religious Studies and Anthropology. She worked in the Office of Admission as a tour guide, tour guide coordinator, and as a senior interviewer. She conducted research with Dr. Patrice Brodeur on the Pluralism Project.

Kim Verstandig, Conn's outgoing Vice President commented, "I can't think of anyone else better poised to take on this leadership role. Susan's knowledge of all things fundraising and her love for and commitment to her alma mater are just what the College needs at this moment."

Susan lives in Orange, CT with her husband, Todd, their two-year-old son, Chase, and two dogs.

Yours,

Leslie Wong
